A! Performance Festival will take place in Akureyri October 10th – 12th. A! is a three-day international performance festival, held every year, now for the tenth time. Admission is free for all events. The festival is the only one of its kind in Iceland, with performances only, from all art forms.
A panel of judges selected performances from a diverse group of artists. Participants are both young up-and-coming artists and more experienced performance artists.
Participants: Magnús Helgason, Hekla Björt Helgadóttir, Fríða Karlsdóttir, Dustin Scott Harvey, Ashima Prakesh og Éva Berki, Véný Skúladóttir, Christalena Hughmanick, Clare Almere, Henrik Koppen, Kristján Helgason, Guðmundur Steinn Gunnarsson and Birgir Sigurðsson, Snæfríður Sól Gunnarsdóttir, Kraftverk (Anna Kolfinna Kuran, Elín Signý Weywadt Ragnarsdóttir, Elísabet Birta Sveinsdóttir, Gígja Jónsdóttir and Guðrún Selma Sigurjónsdóttir), Heather Sincavage and Sarah Hammeken.
A! Performance Festival is a collaboration between Akureyri Art Museum, Akureyri Theater, Hof Cultural Center, The Video-festival Heim, The Personal Collection, The Gil Society, Visual Art Department of Akureyri Comprehensive College and Akureyri Junior College.
Every year the festival turns Akureyri into a bustling cauldron of exciting performances. All events are free of charge.
