Reflecting on Energy
Galleries 4-6
August 25ᵗʰ - October 21ᵗʰ 2018
The topics in Aðalheiður S. Eysteinsdóttir’s (born 1963) exhibition, Reflecting on Energy, are nourishment, nature, practicality, sustainability and fellowship. Nourishing body and soul, and harmonious living are vital to the human being for survival and to give life a purpose: to experience things, love, nurture, criticize and appreciate.
Art often provokes new thought; hence it is the perfect forum to experiment. There are no intended answers, rules or measuring scales. The freedom to create is absolute and appreciation is personal.
Aðalheiður graduated from Akureyri School of Visual Arts in 1993. She has held over 150 solo exhibitions in 14 countries and participated in numerous group exhibitions. In 2000 she was appointed the Artist of Akureyri municipality and joined the Dieter Roth Academy the same year. In 2015 Aðalheiður was the recipient of the DV Culture Prize and was nominated for the Eyrarrósin Prize in 2017.
