“These landscapes are born of a desire to express the exaltation I feel when standing on the shores of the ocean. From this vantage point, I am acutely aware of the interconnectedness of the universe. My imagination runs wild with stories about the people and organisms which live and die in those waters and fill me with both a sense of being very small, and incomparably serene. Through these paintings, I aim to capture this sensation and make it accessible to my audience. Art materials themselves are a major inspiration for me, due to the vast possibilities they allow. I tirelessly explore pigments, paints and their properties, and pursue new skills and techniques. This insatiable curiosity and hunger for knowledge provides inspiration as limitless as the ocean.”
