Hrafnhildur Arnardóttir / Shoplifter (born 1969) has resided in New York since her graduation from the School of Visual Arts in 1996.
Creativity, humor and influence from pop culture are strong characteristics in her work. Site specific installations, sculptures and murals created from material such as multicolored synthetic hair and plastic or mixed media are typical aspects of her work during the last two decades.
Arnardóttir has exhibited her work in several distinguished Museums such as MoMa in New York and Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane. Her work is also featured in Art History Books from Phaidon publishers.
Arnardóttir‘s exhibition is installed in gallery 07 which is a space dedicated to museum education. With a reference into a world of adventures, creative imagination and joy her colorful work appeal to children of all ages and to the child that lives within all adults.
Arnardóttir is Iceland‘s representative at the Venice Biennale 2019.
