Through different media the works of Freyja Reynisdóttir (born 1989) address man’s obsession to define everything and that process which is spun from our common reality: experiences, memory and communication.
The exhibition Stories is a continuation of these speculations, to which there are no correct answers. Reality either blends in or vanishes from the context which the viewer constructs from the artist’s narrative.
Freyja graduated from Akureyri School of Visual Arts in 2014 and has worked and exhibited in Iceland, Denmark, Spain, Germany and the USA. She has run the exhibition space Kaktus as well as held the annual art event Rót in Akureyri and the music festival Ymur.
